Our team is having the same problem as stated in this forum entry: Cant connect to Qground nor AVR GUI
and the user who posted it clarified it was fixed but never stated how to fix it. We’re getting the same error on QGC as the post and the GUI error the screenshot included shows. How can we fix this? We’ve been troubleshooting with our jetson for weeks now and have finally seemed to hit a breakthrough until this happened.
Hi Fiona, I responded to your email but wanted to post here in cases others are experiencing a similar problem. This video howto goes through setting everything up, connecting QGC, and performing a test flight in all three flight modes:
We followed all of the steps shown and are still getting the same errors as described in this post: Can't connect to VRC GUI
We’re stuck!
I think you may be up against an AVR GUI version issue. Can you try this version of the GUI here?
I used this with the image I flashed from the video and it works…
and the thermal:
I’m pretty positive the issue we’re having is with “running” the VMC software, I tried that and it still didn’t work. In your video, the software eventually says “home position captured”- ours never gets to that point, and instead repeats the message “waiting for avr/fusion/geo to be populated.”
This error message is most likely related to your ZED Mini camera. That is used for position flight mode. When you did the setup did you notice if the ZED camera settings were downloaded? I talk about it here in the video:
Also, when you do the start.py run can you take a screenshot of the container statuses (the ones with the green “done” text) next to them.
The ZED camera never detected- we thought it was okay because we weren’t going to use it, but now when we’re trying again it’s still saying the ZED camera isn’t detected.
Okay. Please go through the setup again. You don’t need to reflash the image. Just get your Nano on a network and run the setup.py script. This will allow it to download the necessary parameters for the camera. You must be connected via battery power otherwise the camera won’t be recognized.
IT WORKED!
For anyone having this problem- the issue is with your ZED camera. Get that to configure during setup and you should be good to go.
Thank you to DroneBlocks for being so patient with us!
