So we recently changed DEXI’s board after both connectors for the camera ports broke. We weren’t sure if we had to go through the process of configuration all over again. Additionally, DEXI begins to make a strange sound (much lower in volume than its usual noise) when connected to the battery and the propellers began to twitch.
Yes, you definitely need to do a new calibration whenever you replace the main board. It’s necessary for the sensors to be calibrated and those values are stored on the actual hardware.
We are having the same problem after replacing our board. With the controller connected and the calibration complete, our DEXI continues with the low beeps. Our programmer can even upload code to the drone from NODE-RED (see the red LED in the video below). On QGroundControl it shows that a controller is connected but any inputs made to the RC are not reflected on QGC’s channel monitor.
Update: I managed to calibrate the RC and setup the flight modes, but now I cannot see any data on the actuators tab. See the screenshot attached:
No buttons seem to have any effect when pressed
Yes! That is the exact same noise that our DEXI makes.
Can you let us know what version of QGC you’re running?
@Juliet @Jurassic_001 FYI that tone from the YouTube short is consistent with the QGC screen. It’s alerting that the motor outputs have not been configured. So if we can get to where you can configure those the tone will go away. Some things to check:
-
What version of PX4 are you running? I’m assuming you haven’t changed what we shipped from the factory. That will be in the summary tab.
-
Have you selected the DEXI airframe in the Airframe tab? I believe this will require a reboot of PX4
-
What version of QGC are you running?
Thanks.
I was using an old(er) version of the daily build, downloaded in late April. It had the DEXI-5 airframe, but perhaps it was too old. I’ve just installed the latest daily build but it’ll be an hour before I can re-upload the airframe and test it.
The noise has now gone away after the motor outputs were configured!
Same. Our motor config was a little glitchy but after we got that sorted it flew perfectly.
