Hello, we had a few questions about how the rulings would be done at championships.

Can both the Dexi and AVR manually turn on colors with node red to get communication, and communication points? If so, then can this be done at any time after they both scan a color?

Can the AVR drone attach to a dumpster in phase 1 without taking off, to prepare for phase 2?

Are dumpsters counted as being returned home if any part of them is within the circumference of the barges?

Can multiple dumpster be returned to the same barge?

If dumpsters are stacked on a barge are they also counted as being parked in the barge?

Will the championships require that the AVR drone attaches to the dumpster before communicating with the Dexi?

Can the AVR drone or DEXI scan the ramp April Tags in phase one to figure out phase two strategy if they still scan in phase two.

If one of the drones does not have april tag detection, can just the one drone get points for scanning all of the apriltags, including the ones it would not typically scan? For example, could the dexi scan the barges for points?

  • Can both the Dexi and AVR manually turn on colors with node red to get communication, and communication points? If so, then can this be done at any time after they both scan a color?
    • Answer: Colors must be turned on automatically by Node Red, not manually, referees will be enforcing this during the championship.
  • Can the AVR drone attach to a dumpster in phase 1 without taking off, to prepare for phase 2?
    • Answer: The delivery process is not allowed to start until Mission 2 starts including picking up a dumpster. If done so early in Mission 1, the team would lose all subsequent points as a result
  • Are dumpsters counted as being returned home if any part of them is within the circumference of the barges?
    • Answer: They must be as well aligned with the barge as possible - a single point of contact like a corner does not count. This clarification was included in an email sent to your advisor today.
  • Can multiple dumpster be returned to the same barge?
    • Answer: No, see the clarification in the email sent to your advisor for more details.
  • If dumpsters are stacked on a barge are they also counted as being parked in the barge?
    • Answer: No, see the clarification in the email sent to your advisor for more details.
  • Will the championships require that the AVR drone attaches to the dumpster before communicating with the Dexi?
    • Answer: No.
  • Can the AVR drone or DEXI scan the ramp April Tags in phase one to figure out phase two strategy if they still scan in phase two.
    • Answer: No - an AVR task must be completed by only the AVR, and same for the DEXI. Mission requires only the DEXI scan the AprilTags on the ramp.
