Although my team did not make it to the championship, we were determined to keep practicing and learning more about the Dexi drone. Last week, during a routine flight, something unexpected happened. About two minutes into the flight, we noticed a small fire coming from the center of the drone. We acted quickly, landing the drone immediately and disconnecting the battery to prevent further damage. After carefully inspecting the drone, we discovered that a significant area near the ARK board was burned. This was surprising because we had successfully competed in two competitions this season with minimal issues. Nothing had been changed on the drone since those competitions, so we’re now trying to figure out what went wrong and unfortunately are left with an inoperable drone with some salvageable components. When notified about the Rolo change and the screw under the ESC, it was removed immediately. Although this was not the culprit, it could have been a contributing factor, as it did slightly damage the ESC prior to being notified. The battery also received a burn on it from the flame. We placed it in our safe bag and it has been in there since.
