How and when is the connex box measured? Will it be measured when the doors are open or closed?
Hello Valbuena - This is a great question which needs to be clarified. Looking at the 4.2 Game Specific Definition for the Conex Tool Box, it states: " 3)…the core box structure must meet the dimensions stated above, but the additions of mechanisms, hooks, bubble gum , etc. which are attached to the core box structure or the AVR Drone are allowed.
4) Door openings for the Sphero Technicians to enter and exit the Conex Tool Box can
be located at any side or sides of the Box."
To clarify when we say the “door openings” we are not requiring teams to include doors which open and shut for the Spheros to enter or exit. Teams can have “openings” (without doors) on whichever side(s) of the Conex Box which works best for your strategy.
If you do decide to include doors which open and close, the required dimensions of 4” x 4” x 12” (+/- ¼ inch) only apply to the core structure of the Conex Tool Box, not any other attachments or moving parts that are added to the core structure.
Hope this covers your question.
Yes, thank you very much
